If after that i still don't have all evidence, i check if it's still the right ghost room. I usually identify the room, set up my evidence, confirm first suspicions, and when i then have to wait for stuff, like writing, i just go and find the bone, fill my photos, do objectives. Maybe dots, but that's very fast if you are in the ghost room. You only really have to wait for ghost writing. None of the evidence requires you to wait in the dark and do nothing, it's even counterproductive is some cases. I am not sure, but i think sitting in the dark waiting for stuff to happen is never a good idea unless it's part of a plan and strategy (like lowering your sanity provoking a hunt, listening to locate the ghost room) On intermediate you dont even need to check for emf in the house.
